Supporting Local Theatre
Local theatre is an important part of the arts. Not only does it give performers an outlet for their talents, but it also encourages the community to come together to support their own. Whether kids are in the production or part of the audience, theatre is a great way to introduce them to classic stories. I love to read, and I always enjoy seeing a story brought to life on the stage.
You have a lot of choices in entertainment these days, and I encourage you to support theatre in your own town. Attending a live performance is a great way to be part of things going on right where you live, rather than watching programming that is taped and edited far from home.
One of those local groups deserving our support is the Albuquerque Little Theatre, and we’re doing our part to help them raise funds for a new stage floor. We’ll be selling raffle tickets at the FREE Lighter Than Air Fair at the Balloon Museum October 1st – 9th, so come out and show your support for ALT. Tickets are $10. Your entry could win one of many prizes, including an iPad 2, iPhone 4S and more. Where else can you get a $200 iPhone or $500 iPad 2 for only $10-$20? And it helps rebuild the 77 year old stage!
For more information about the raffle, visit ALT’s web site here.
If you want an ALT volunteer to come by your office and offer raffle tickets, call 505-792-5259 (only in ABQ and Rio Rancho).
